Travelogue (Turkmenistan)

After the Iranian border: Hurray - finally getting rid of this bloody headscarf!

We were given a basket full of melons for our journey ahead
Turkmen's favorite means of transport
Break at the "Kafe"
Samsa and dumplings for lunch
Pomegranates are so delicious
Our "summer residence"
Karakum desert
Hot like in a furnace
Wide open space
Sleeping behind one of the sand dunes
Filtering parts of the almost 30l of water
Cycling before sunrise is not for little girls!
Sunrise
Lunch with the truck drivers
Chatting with the cheerful young women
Taking a little break and filling up the bodies with sugar supplies
New tandem couple?
Turkmenabad: Houses in old Sovjet style
Where are you from and where are you going?
On the way to the Uzbek border
One of the very rare road signs in Turkmenistan
Goodbye and thank you for the short passage, Mr. President!
